My name is Amy Swinbank and I am currently a trainee teacher studying a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education with QTS at Edge Hill University. My degree is allowing me to develop my knowledge of the national curriculum subjects, whilst specialising in science and physical education.
I am originally from a farming family in Cumbria and am very passionate about educating children about agriculture, especially knowledge of where their food comes from – and this was thanks to my time as a member of the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs.
In my blog I hope to record my journey as a teacher during my time in University, on placement and also experiences in my free time. I will reflect on these through photos and blog entries against the Teachers Standards.
I hope you enjoy my blog! Please feel free to follow my professional Twitter and Instagram accounts, which can be found on the home page.
